| Accept the Recommendation to Purchase “BurlingtonEnglish Seat Software” from Burlington English, Inc. (Sole-Source Provider) (Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| The BurlingtonEnglish Seat software is utilized to enhance English language instruction. In targeting Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students, this program helps in the development of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. This program will be used for Adult Education and Family Literacy. It should be noted that Burlington English is named in the Career Recruitment and Instruction in Basic English (CARIBE) Grant.
Burlington English, Inc. provides software/licenses, and holds the copyright, therefore, is exempt from solicitation process per Florida Department of Education rule 6A-1.012. |

| Grant funds are budgeted and available in the CARIBE Grant Project 2121 in the amount of $100,224. | |
| EVALUATION | |
| All Adult Education ESOL students will be tested for English proficiency prior to class placement. Once placed, classroom instruction through various methodologies will be evaluated through continued regular assessments to determine student growth and proficiency. | |
