Approve the Memorandum of Understanding Between The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida (SBHC) and Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA Success After School for the Implementation and Operation of Before School and After School Programs (YMCA) (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The SBHC and YMCA have partnered to provide school-age care since 1981.  For 31 years, the strength of this collaboration has ensured quality care for students and families in our community.  The purpose of this memorandum of understanding is to establish an agreement between SBHC and YMCA concerning their respective roles and responsibilities.  This memorandum of understanding is in effect August 13, 2012, through June 30, 2013.

•Â Align financial resources to support the district’s strategic goals
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
The YMCA will compensate the schools used in the after-school program in the amount of $332,323.  The 28 elementary schools will be used from August 13, 2012, through June 30, 2013.  Funds provided to the schools are to replace custodial supplies and to compensate the school district for the use of electricity.
EVALUATION
Bi-annual principal and parent surveys will be conducted by SBHC and the YMCA and results shared with SBHC and the YMCA.  Parent and Student Satisfaction Surveys will be among the tools used for evaluation.  Surveys will employ a Likert scale, which asks respondents to specify their level of agreement to a statement.
