We request approval to accept The Able Trust Grant of $20,000 which allows for the High School High Tech Program to be continued at four high schools in Hillsborough County (Brandon High School, Durant High School, Middleton High School, and Strawberry Crest High School) for students with disabilities and site advisors at each site.

The Able Trust Grant will allow for students at these sites with varying disabilities the opportunity to explore jobs, postsecondary education, and technology related careers. The Career and Technical Education Department focuses on employment and preparing students for the workforce.  Therefore, The Able Trust Grant supports this purpose and mission.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum • Align the performance management system with the district’s priorities
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
If approved, funds of $20,000 will be available through The Able Trust Grant-Project 2313.
EVALUATION
Student activities developed for this project are designed to reduce the dropout rate of students with disabilities, increase enrollment in postsecondary education/training, and improve participation in education and vocational-related activities leading to increased employment opportunities.  Data of student participation in the activities and employment will be collected and reported to The Able Trust.
