Approve Revised Workforce Education Fee Schedule for Adult Student Tuition, Financial Aid, and Capital Improvement for Postsecondary Technical and Adult Education Programs, 2012/2013 (Career, Technical, and Adult Education) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
We request approval of the revised Workforce Education Fee Schedule. On June 12, 2012, the School Board approved the Workforce Education Fee Schedule for Adult Student Tuition, Financial Aid, and Capital Improvement for Postsecondary Technical and Adult Education Programs for the 2012/2013 school year. The fee schedule included the legislative mandate for a 5-percent increase in student tuition and fees.
In August 2012 we received clarifying language from the Department of Education with details concerning required rounding procedures. As a result, our capital improvement fee for Florida residents must be reduced from 12 cents to 11 cents and for nonresidents must be reduced from 47 cents to 46 cents. This 1-cent reduction in the hourly rate will assure our compliance with legislative intent. |
