Approve Interlocal Agreement Between the School Board of Hillsborough County and Hillsborough County for the Design and Construction of Sports Field Improvements at Randall Middle School

Pursuant to the terms of the General Cooperative Agreement between the School Board of Hillsborough County and Hillsborough County dated June 15, 2010, the School Board and County share use of ball fields at Randall Middle School and the County's adjacent Fishhawk Sports Complex, located on Fishhawk Boulevard in Lithia.  County staff has proposed to design and construct improvements (irrigation, lighting systems, turf and fencing) to the fields located at Randall and fund these improvements through their Capital Improvement Program budget.

The Interlocal Agreement is scheduled to be presented to the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners on October 3, 2012.  The fields at Randall are owned and maintained by the School District and the field improvements will be owned and maintained by the County.  Improvements will meet HCPS standards and be permitted by the HCPS Building Code Manager.  The fields are used for County programs during non-school hours and used by the School during school hours, as provided for in the 2010 General Cooperative Agreement.

The cost for design and construction of improvements to the sports fields at Randall Middle School by Hillsborough County will be funded through Hillsborough County's Capital Improvement Program budget.
