Approve Acceptance of Project for Renovation (Phase 2) at Armwood High School
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Board previously appointed Ranon & Partners, Inc. Architects and Ellis Construction Company, Inc. to provide design and construction management services for the renovation of Armwood High School. The renovation provided for correction of code and safety deficiencies; roof replacement; replacement of data, closed circuit television (CCTV), fire alarm, intercom, and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems; new signage, ceiling tiles, lighting, and flooring; repair or replacement of damaged casework; upgrades to existing electrical and security systems; interior repainting; repair, cleaning, and sealing of exterior brick, and repainting of other exterior surfaces; restroom and kitchen renovations; new stadium lighting and sound systems; new playcourts; replacement of auditorium seating; and limited replacement of instructional aids.

The renovation was planned in phases. Phase 1, which included the building exterior renovation and replacement of the roof, chiller plant, and field lighting and sound systems, was previously accepted by the Board. Phase 2 addressed the remaining scope.

The architect advises that Phase 2 of the renovation is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.

This item was included in the District Capital Outlay: Certificate of Participation Series 2004C ($11,000,000) and Local Millage ($8,907,969).
