Accept the Lowest and Best Bid Submitted by TransDiesel of Lakeland, Inc. - Invitation to Bid (ITB) #12127-DST Allison™ Rebuilt Transmissions for School Buses (Business Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This bid was prepared at the request of the Transportation Department to establish fixed pricing for factory-quality rebuilt and warranty services for Allison™ branded transmissions.  Rebuilt factory approved transmissions contribute to cost savings, as rebuilt transmissions are less expensive than new and extend the lives of currently-owned vehicles.  Rebuilt transmissions are also better for the environment due to reduced carbon-based emissions.

The initial term of this contract shall be for a one-year period beginning October 10, 2012, with four one-year renewals. All prices offered are firm against any increase for at least one year from the effective date. This contract may be renewed by the Superintendent, per the terms of the specifications.

Expenditures were $207,185 for 2011/2012, and $102,697 for 2010/2011.
EVALUATION
Contract administration or evaluation is performed by the Project Manager (end user) and Procurement Officer, who function as a team.  Reviews are conducted face to face, typically quarterly, or by utilizing an online vendor performance report.  Prior to soliciting a new contract, the Contract Administration team must first give consideration to the specifications and supporting data of the expiring contract.
