SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services With Cross and Joftus to Continue the Support, Design and Implementation of our Administrative Selection Systems, Specifically Entry into the Future Leader Academy (Administration Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In an effort to get the very best leaders into our Principal Pipeline, we worked last school year with Cross and Joftus to develop our competency model in order to accurately assess candidates on our eight school leader selection competencies.  We are implementing our new selection process in October and have asked that Cross and Joftus consultants continue to work with us as we calibrate district selection teams and organize selection days that are designed to give us the most accurate picture of each candidate’s performance based on our school leader selection competencies.  Consultants will model best interviewing practices for our selection teams, as well as scoring each candidate following the interview process.  They will also continue work on developing comprehensive rubrics for each of our 21 school leader competencies and finalizing all rubric trainings and interview guides for interviews taking place at all levels of the pipeline.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum • Align the performance management system with the district’s priorities
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funding for this project will come from our Wallace Grant.  The cost is $21,525.
EVALUATION
The outcomes of our work with Cross and Joftus will be measured in the following ways: quality of candidates selected to enter the administrative pool based on feedback from interview teams and Assistant Principal evaluations, once candidates have been selected to Assistant Principal positions and have been in the role for a school year; feedback provided by applicants as to rigor and transparency of selection process, as well as quality of feedback received by those not selected.
