The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority (TBARTA) came before the School Board at a workshop in December 2008 to present a draft of the TBARTA transportation master plan that shows opportunities for connectivity within the 7 county region which includes Hillsborough County.  The master plan was subsequently adopted and is currently being updated. School District staff has stayed involved monitoring and participating in various workshops and working groups as the master plan has been adopted and updated.

TBARTA was created in 2007 to work toward building a world-class transportation system to the seven county region of Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Sarasota counties. The presentation is an overview of the organization, its mission, goals and current transportation projects. It will also provide an update on some shorter term solutions to congestion, the Commuter Services program, and the Master Plan Update that is currently underway.
