Approve American Education Week Proclamation
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
American Education Week (AEW), an annual commemoration now in its 91st year, is November 11-17, 2012.  The theme, Great Public Schools:  A Basic Right and Our Responsibility, spotlights the crucial need to create great public schools for all students, and raise awareness that educators, parents, community members, business leaders, elected officials, and students all have a part to play in supporting the teaching and learning process -- all students deserve an education that will allow them to achieve and succeed in the 21st century.
