Approve Acceptance of Project for Renovation at Chiaramonte Elementary School
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program included a project for renovation of Chiaramonte Elementary School.  On October 5, 2010, the Board appointed Wilder Architecture, Inc. to provide design services.  On October 26, 2010, the Board appointed Horus Construction Services, Inc. to provide construction management services.  The scope of work provided for remodeling of classrooms to add student restrooms and replace wood partitions; new casework, flooring, wall finishes and signage; new doors and hardware; sealing of exterior brick and restoration of the concrete canopy; a new cooler/freezer; replacement of fire alarm, security and intercom systems and a new fire sprinkler system; handicap accessibility upgrades; renovation of gang toilets; renovation of the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system and electrical system; new classroom aids; new low-flow plumbing fixtures and energy efficient lighting, including additional exterior lighting; and upgrades to faculty and staff toilets.

The design professional has certified that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
