Approve License Agreement Between the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County and the School Board of Hillsborough County at Progress Village Magnet School, Ippolito and Gibsonton Elementary Schools

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On January 24, 2012, the School Board of Hillsborough County approved a License Agreement with the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County (EPC) to place air quality monitoring equipment at Progress Village Magnet and Ippolito Elementary Schools.  The EPC has requested permission for continued use of Progress Village and Ippolito and to add Gibsonton Elementary School to the agreement.  The EPC is responsible for the completion of the Mosaic Gypsum Stack study as part of the Development of Regional Impact #241.  This study includes two types of air monitoring, dust and passive radon.  The term of the agreement will begin on March 31, 2013, and expire on April 1, 2014, with one twelve (12) month renewal option.

The EPC will be responsible for all utilities necessary for electrical power and after termination, will remove all equipment and utilities and return the areas to the same condition prior to their use.

Representatives from the EPC have met with the principals of each school for coordination of their efforts.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)

The approval of the License Agreement with the EPC for the air quality monitoring program at Progress Village Magnet School, Gibsonton and Ippolito Elementary Schools will have no financial impact to the School Board.
