Approve Acceptance of the Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance, Inc. Amendment Modification Grant Funds by the Career, Technical, and Adult Education Department, 2013/2014 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval to accept the Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance, Inc. Amendment modification grant funds, which are a continuation of the previous grant dated June 14, 2011.  These funds are used to implement a career exploration and workplace readiness skills five-week summer camp with a focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines, and a five-week entrepreneurship camp with a focus on business development and interpersonal communication skills.  The grant is a partnership with Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance, Inc., Hillsborough Community College, Junior Achievement, and Hillsborough County Public Schools and will serve 450 eligible 14-16 year-old TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) students.  Periodic events will take place throughout the 2013/2014 school year to enrich the students understanding of the STEM careers and postsecondary opportunities.

EVALUATION
Performance evaluation measures are determined by Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance, Inc.  The results of the evaluation are shared with all stakeholders.
