To Provide Turn-Key Fleet Maintenance Repair, Support and Fuel for the Two Buses Owned by AMIkids, Tampa in Addition to Providing Driver Training |

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On July 31, 2012, a contract was board-approved with AMIkids Tampa (contract attached). AMIkids Tampa is a non-residential DJJ/Dropout Prevention Program for students who are assigned through the change of placement process or recommendation through court placement. AMIkids Tampa provides the facility and the personnel for the educational program with support and oversight by the School District's Youth Services Program. The two buses currently owned by AMIkids, Tampa are two 2008 Thomas CS 47 passenger buses. The Fleet Maintenance section of the Transportation Department will provide all applicable repair(s), service, monthly inspections, and road call service, along with all fluids and fuel. Road call service will only be provided on official school days from 5:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Buses will also have access to the Hillsborough County Public Schools' fueling depots. Costs will be offset by the transportation costs currently provided to District Alternative Education students who will be placed in AMIkids Tampa by the Hearing Master through the change of placement process. The School District contracts with AMIkids Tampa and the current contract expires June 30, 2013. The provisions of this item will be added to the AMIkids Tampa contract when that contract is presented to the Board for renewal. |

Estimated costs to the District for the remainder of the school year will be $6,000 and will be offset by the transportation costs currently provided to District Alternative Education students who will be placed in AMIkids Tampa by the Hearing Master through the change of placement process. |
