Approve Contract with AMIKids - Tampa (Formerly Tampa Marine Institute) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
AMIKids - Tampa provides a 230-day non-residential DJJ/Dropout Prevention Program for 60 students who are assigned through the change of placement process or recommendation through court placement. AMIKids - Tampa provides the facility and the personnel for the educational program with support and oversight by the school district's Youth Services Program. The school district contracts with providers like AMIKids - Tampa to serve these students through an FTE-generated formula and provide 90% of all FTE revenue earned, as well as furnish access to all applicable categorical funds. | |

The cost of this contract is $145,903. This amount is calculated using the projected FTE-generated revenue, plus the applicable categorical funds, minus 10% administrative cost allowed by the Florida Law (HB 1989), and a percentage of the cost of direct instructional services provided by Youth Services department staff. This item is included in the Part 1 Budget for 2013/2014. | |
EVALUATION | |
Each Juvenile Justice Education Program is evaluated annually by Youth Services department staff based on a model developed by the Juvenile Justice Enhancement Program (JJEEP). | |
