Recognition of Robinson High School for Their Award of the District and Regional Middle/Senior High School Florida Department of Education/Florida Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Parent Involvement Regional Award (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Robinson High School's project, "The Cube" which stands for College and Career Center (the letter “C” cubed), won the middle/senior high school category. The goal of the Cube is to help students develop a concrete plan for their postsecondary future and assist them in meeting their benchmarks on their way to their goal.  The Cube is located in the media center of Robinson High School.

“The Cube” initiative was inspired and led by a parent who collaborated with the College and Career counselors, guidance department, school administration, the PTA, the Robinson Foundation board, and other parents to create a “hub” for students for postsecondary needs and questions. Parent volunteers are on campus three days each week.

During the first year of "The Cube", parent volunteers were instrumental assisting students with enrollment in the Bright Futures Scholarship and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) if they were eligible for a waiver.

Robinson High School was honored at the SERVE/Parent Involvement Awards banquet in May and will be honored at the 2013 Florida PTA Leadership Conference.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
The Robinson Foundation provided $1500 for materials to transform a storage room in the media center into the new College and Career Center.

Community partners also provided services and materials at reduced costs to assist in the set-up of this initiative.  It is estimated that operating costs will be below $500 for each school year.
