Recognition of the Students Honored by Duke Talent Identification Program as National Grand Level Honorees, 2013 (Middle School Education-Instructional Support Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP) identifies academically talented seventh-grade students based on standardized test scores. These students were invited to complete either the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). These tests are the same college admissions exams administered to high school juniors and seniors. Seventh-grade students who score in the top 3% in the nation on the ACT or SAT receive National Grand Level Recognition and are invited to a ceremony at Duke University. This year, 75,172 seventh graders nationwide participated in TIP and 1670 earned recognition as National Grand Level Honorees.
In Hillsborough District, there were 1350 seventh-grade students who participated in the Duke Talent Identification Program and 4 students scored high enough on the SAT or ACT to receive National Grand Level recognition. |
