Approve Memorandum of Agreement between the Department of Health/Hillsborough County Health Department (DOH/HCHD) and The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida for Comprehensive Grant Dollars (Instructional Support Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
This Memorandum of Agreement is in effect July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2014. This agreement provides the School Board with 13 registered nurses to work in schools under direct supervision of the Supervisor of School Health Services in accordance with the State of Florida Best Practices Guidelines. School Health Services will be responsible for hiring and evaluating the nurses hired under this program. These registered nurses are paid by the DOH/HCHD and by the school health services department's salary and fringe schedules. This funding is used for salaries, fringes, travel, and training for the 13 registered nurses. This renewal has been in effect for over six years. | |

The total contribution of $596,501 is made available to the district from Federal Title XXI dollars provided by the DOH/HCHD. | |
EVALUATION | |
The annual report and plan are submitted to the DOH/HCHD in August. Data is collected from monthly reports submitted by school nurses. | |
