| Approve Letter of Engagement with HBEC Group Inc. for continuation of Professional Services Related to Government Relations and State Budget Financial Analysis (Government Relations) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| Since 2007 Hillsborough County Public Schools has maintained a professional services agreement for government relations and financial analysis support with HBEC Group Inc. for the services of Dr. James Hamilton. These services include but are not limited to attending, participating, and reporting on revenue estimating conferences, legislative committee meetings, regular legislative sessions, special legislative sessions, and various commission, state, or agency meetings. HBEC Group Inc. will also provide written legislative reports and other updates and one-on-one assistance to Board members or staff as requested.
HBEC Group Inc. compensation remains at $60,000 per year. As in the past, HBEC Group Inc. has agreed to provide on-site support in Tallahassee at its own expense. Services will begin July 1, 2013 and conclude June 30, 2015. |

For services rendered by HBEC Group Inc., Hillsborough County Public Schools will be billed $60,000 each fiscal year for two years; payable in monthly installments of $5,000 per month for a total of 24 months. Services begin July 1, 2013 and continue through June 30, 2015. Either party, with a 30-day written notice, may cancel this agreement. As per the agreement, HBEC Group Inc. will be responsible for all customary travel expenses including housing, gasoline, airline transportation, rental car, and meals associated with the services provided to the school district. This item is budgeted from non-recurring funds. |
