SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Between Hillsborough County Public Schools and the Center for Teacher Quality (CTQ) Establishing Two Teacherpreneur Positions for the 2013-2014 School Year
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On April 26, 2012, the School Board approved the pursuit of a relationship with CTQ to obtain funding for two teacherpreneur positions.  This MOU establishes the creation of two teacherpreneur positions for the 2013-2014 school year.  A teacherpreneur is a teacher who will teach half time and serve as a professional development resource the other half of the day.  CTQ will provide funding for two half time teacher units.  These units will be used to provide release time for the teacherpreneurs.

During the 2012-2013 school year, Ryan Kinser at Walker Middle School and Megan Allen at Shaw Elementary served as teacherpreneurs.  In this proposal, Julie Hiltz, a media specialist at Lutz and Robert Kriete, English Language Arts at Eisenhower, are being recommended to serve in the roles.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
CTQ will provide funding for 50% of each teacherpreneur's salary and benefits (approximately $68,000).
EVALUATION
Both CTQ and the district will evaluate the impact of the position through verbal and written surveys.
