| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| We request approval of the First Modification Agreement with Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners Head Start/Early Head Start Program and The School Board of Hillsborough County, FL, Head Start to reduce dollars. This reduction is due to the planned five percent (5%) sequestration reduction in Head Start grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This modification is effective June 19, 2013, through September 30, 2013. The dates on the agenda item and the Interlocal Agreement are different because the Board of County Commissioners met in June and approved the agreement. | |

| The total funding of $10,851,087 is flow-through dollars from the Board of County Commissioners Head Start/Early Head Start and contracted by The School Board of Hillsborough County, FL, Head Start Program. These dollars consist of $10,754,589 in Head Start base funding and $96,498 for Training and Technical Assistance. All funds are expended for the operation of the School Board of Hillsborough County, FL, Head Start Program for services provided for eligible families. | |

| Financial statements are audited by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners Head Start/Early Head Start, as prescribed by law. Federal funding for The School Board of Hillsborough County, FL, Head Start Program flows through the Grantee, Hillsborough County Head Start/Early Head Start. There is no district-generated revenue used for this program. | |
