SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Annual Support Renewal for Viewpoint Software from Central Minnesota Educational Research and Development Council (CMERDC) (Information and Technology Division) Added Attachments
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This agenda item approves the annual support and software maintenance for Viewpoint software. The Viewpoint software, better known within the district as the Instructional Planning Tool (IPT), is used by instructors, administrators, and district level curriculum leaders to access individual student and group performance data.

The district has used the Instructional Planning Tool (IPT) since 2005.  A variety of stakeholders were involved in the creation of the IPT so that the information would be valuable to the end user.  IPT allows those with appropriate credentials immediate access to a wide array of information.  Available data consists of an individual student, whole course, whole grade level, or whole school information.  Classroom teachers can easily aggregate and/or disaggregate the most current demographic or assessment information available on their students, plus view a detailed history of patterns in achievement.   Administrator's access provides the additional functionality of viewing whole school trends thus easily identifying areas of need and readily allowing for detailed focus on curriculum and instruction.

In 2008, the IPT was nominated to the award committee of the Florida School Board Association (FSBA) who in turn found it to be an "Exemplary" use of technology to assist teachers and students in their respective journey in instruction and learning.

Attached is a copy of the previous agenda item, approved by the Board on August 21, 2007, which demonstrates the amount remains unchanged.
