Recognition of the University of South Florida Confucius Institute for the Establishment of the Confucius Classroom for Students Currently Enrolled in Chinese Programs (Curriculum and Instruction Division) |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY |
In collaboration with the University of South Florida (USF) Confucius Institute and the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Quindao University), the prestigious Confucius Classroom grant will be implemented during the 2013/2014 school year at Ferrell Middle Magnet School, Franklin Middle Magnet School, and Middleton High School.
The Confucius Classroom grant will provide resources for teaching materials, staff development, and cultural activities for students enrolled in current Chinese programs. In addition, the agreement will offer support from USF and Quindao University of College Board programs by developing partnerships with schools in China leading students to AP® Chinese and an increased level of Chinese language and cultural proficiency.

Grant funds will be provided by the USF Confucius Institute for an annual start-up operating budget of $10,000 for the Confucius Classroom.
