Request Approval of the Activities Calendar for Career and Technical Student Organizations, 2013/2014 (Career, Technical, and Adult Education)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) calendar is presented annually during the month of October.  The attached calendar includes activities from the executive director of each CTSO, district career and technical education staff, and the Florida Department of Education.  This document identifies activities from October 2013 through October 2014.  CTSO are co-curricular and are integral to the career and technical education curriculum.  Involvement in the CTSO activities and competitive events reinforces academic and occupational knowledge, strengthens leadership skills, provides career networking, and improves personal presentation skills.  CTSO membership rewards practical and academic learning.  The business/industry community views our career and technical education programs as a significant source of well-prepared employees and college ready students.  Approval of this calendar allows students to participate in CTSO activities both in-county and out-of-county.
