Approve Acceptance of Project for Roof Replacement at 2 Sites (Grady Elementary School and LaVoy Exceptional Center)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On October 26, 2010, The Board approved the issuance of approximately $37,935,000 of Qualified School Construction Bonds (QSCBs) for renovation of roofs and heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at  various  District sites. The QSCBs provided  for  acceleration  of  roof  and HVAC  renovations  previously scheduled in the District Facilities Five Year Work Program. The roof renovations were executed in phases to avoid over-tasking available roofing contractors and ensure competitive pricing. (QSCB funded projects are indicated in the attachment.) 

District staff combined requirements for replacement of a portion of the roofs at Grady Elementary School and LaVoy Exceptional Center into a single project and selected C. B. Goldsmith and Associates, Inc. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services.  On November 13, 2012, Southern Roofing Co. was awarded the contract.

The design professional has certified that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
