SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Special Programs and Procedures (SP&P) in Accordance with the ESE Policies and Procedures Document for the Effective Dates of 2013/2014 through 2015/2016 (Instructional Support Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
School Board Policy 2460, which the School Board has adopted as a rule, and the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) State Board of Education Rule 6A-6.03411 (2), require the Board to develop and implement the SP&P document.  This document provides the administrative procedures for ESE.  Every three years the School Board will revise, readopt, and submit the SP&P document to FLDOE.

The SP&P document has been submitted to FLDOE, who has approved it for adoption by the School Board. Following adoption by the School Board, the Superintendent will comply with FLDOE requirements, by signing the document’s signature page and certifying that no changes have been made to the document as approved by FLDOE.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
State and federal funds for ESE are used to provide the services included in the SP&P document.
EVALUATION
The SP&P document has received the prior approval of the Florida Department of Education and may not be altered.
