Approve the Purchase of Equipment from Cadwell Laboratories, Inc. (Sole-Source Provider) to be Utilized in the Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (END) Program at Erwin Technical Center (Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
We are requesting approval for the purchase of five Easy III units, which include amplifiers, software, and the Sierra Wave channel system. This comprehensive program includes all aspects of the 1,250-hour adult vocational curriculum framework, which prepares students for employment as basic electroneurodiagnostic technologists.
Electroneurodiagnostic technologists use electronic graphs to perform electroencephalograms (EEGs) to determine if patients suffer from central nervous system conditions or diseases like epilepsy, tumors, or stroke. This equipment is designated as sole-source, as Cadwell Laboratories, Inc. is both the manufacturer and marketer. The purchase includes the trade-in of equipment purchased in 2006 (now at zero Hillsborough County Public Schools book value), and is exempt from requesting competitive solicitations by Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) 6A-1.012 Purchasing Policies (12) (d). |
