School District staff has been working with a developer in the South County Region to acquire a middle school site as reflected in the School Board approved Five Year Facilities Work Plan.   The site consists of 37.74 acres on the north side of Balm Road (CR 672), east of US Route 301.  The appropriate zoning has been approved by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners to allow for school, school support and school operating facilities uses.    A preliminary site analysis has been completed and the parcel is suitable for the development of the proposed middle school campus.

Siting of Middle School TT in south Hillsborough County will provide relief to Eisenhower, Shields and Barrington Middle Schools.

Appraisals have been performed and the average value of $5,020,000 will be used to establish the amount of Impact Fee Credits that will be assigned to the developer by Hillsborough County under a separate action taken by both the School Board and County Commission.

Costs associated with the approval of the location for the Middle School TT site in southern Hillsborough County area will be for preliminary site analysis reports, appraisals and legal fees.  These fees will be derived from Local Millage.
