Recognition of Certified Principal Coaches and Certified Assistant Principal Master Mentors (Administration Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Hillsborough County Public Schools has placed great emphasis on the importance of mentoring and coaching as ways to support the development of new teachers and leaders in the district.  For the past two years, high performing assistant principals and principals have been selected to fill mentoring and coaching roles.  In these roles, they have been committed to providing ongoing and job-embedded support to new assistant principals and principals.  The training for Master Mentors was conducted by an organization called Metagourn. The list of district Certified Assistant Principal Master Mentors is as follows: Russell Wallace, Michael Bobo, Vickie Kummelman, Mary Mathis, Greg Basham, and Trisha Fitzgerald.  The training for Principal Coaches was conducted by New Teacher Center.  The list of district Certified Principal Coaches is as follows: Laura Zavatkay, Sharon Morris, Shaylia McRae, Odalys Pritchard, and Holly Saia.

Both of these organizations have rigorous certification programs that our 11 mentors and coaches successfully passed.  They are considered Certified Master Mentors and Certified Principal Coaches according to national mentoring and coaching standards.  Their work in the field is truly supporting the growth of our school leaders.
