| Approve Memorandum of Agreement with the Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coordinating Office, Inc. (DACCO) and the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida (SBHC) (Instructional Support Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| DACCO and SBHC enter into this agreement to provide a program of substance abuse prevention at select middle and high schools. The program is known as the New Directions Substance Abuse Prevention Program. The New Directions Substance Abuse Prevention Program will help identify youth 11 through 17 years of age who have exhibited high-risk behaviors that increase the potential for academic failure, suspension, or expulsion from a traditional school setting. This service partnership has existed for 24 years.
Agency services will include group and individual counseling. The Supervisor of School Social Work Services and agency staff from DACCO will meet to implement these services at Adams, Hill, Liberty, Monroe, and Shields middle schools and Armwood, Bloomingdale, East Bay, Freedom, Lennard and Robinson high schools. Effective dates are December 11, 2013, through June 30, 2015. |

| The district provides office space for these services at the assigned schools. Approximate in-kind support from the district for this space and custodial support is $27,500 per year. | |
| EVALUATION | |
| Program services are evaluated at least twice a year. The joint management team will review, quarterly and annually, outcome data on all clients served. Input will also be solicited from the administrators of the participating schools. | |
