EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
In our ongoing effort to enhance the safety and security in our elementary schools, this four-year interlocal agreement between the School Board of Hillsborough County and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is to support the strategic assignment of ten School Resource Deputies at designated elementary schools.
This agreement is funded in part through a United States Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) grant. Expenses not covered by the grant will be equally cost-shared by both agencies. The deputies assigned to elementary schools will provide heightened law enforcement presence on campuses, facilitate positive interaction between students and law enforcement, support administrators, and expedite emergency response when and if needed. |
