EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Division of Curriculum and Instruction, Career and Technical Education Department of Junior Reserve Officer Training is very pleased to recognize Cadet Private First Class Alec Leslie for his exceptional role in saving the life of a citizen on the evening of October 18, 2013, near Gibsonton, Florida.  In this act of courage, Cadet Leslie placed himself in danger while assisting an injured man involved in a single car accident on Interstate 75.  While applying the knowledge taught in Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC), Cadet Leslie provided initial medical assistance and assessed the man’s condition, resulting in keeping the injured man alive while waiting for paramedics to arrive.  He directed the paramedics to the location of the accident and helped them to maneuver during the hours of darkness and heavy traffic.
