| Recognition of Bertha and Tony Saladino, Jr. for Hosting the 34th Annual Bertha and Tony Saladino Baseball Tournament, and Tony Saladino Jr. for Over 50 years of Service as a Teacher with Hillsborough County Public Schools (Instructional Support Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| Roger Dearing, the Executive Director of FHSAA (Florida High School Athletic Association), threw out the first pitch at last year’s tournament and shared that this is one of the largest tournaments in the state (of any sport), and the only tournament to never require teams to pay an entry fee! The goal for Tony Saladino has always been, “Making friends, memories, caring and responsible citizens, one inning at a time!”
In addition to hosting one of the largest tournaments in the state, Tony Saladino, Jr. has spent the last 50 years as an educator in Hillsborough County Public Schools; serving the students and communities of Bing Elementary, Boyette Elementary, Forest Hills Elementary, Frost Elementary, Pinecrest Elementary, Seffner Elementary, Tampa Palms Elementary, and Valrico Elementary - a remarkable feat! Also, in December Bertha and Tony celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Congratulations and thank you for everything that you do and have done for the students and communities of Hillsborough County. |
