A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provides for renovation of the HVAC system at Mort Elementary School.  On October 22, 2013, the Board appointed Ossi Consulting Engineers, Inc. to provide design services.  The scope of work includes replacement of rooftop HVAC equipment with new classroom fancoil units connected to the chilled water system; new chillers, air handling units and ductwork; a new energy management control system; new energy efficient interior fluorescent lighting; new ceilings; fire alarm upgrades; and installation of a fire sprinkler system.

The project was advertised and bids received (see attached bid tabulation).  Award of the contract for construction to  Climate Control Mechanical Services, Inc., the low bidder for the base bid and alternates selected for implementation as indicated in the attachment,  is recommended.

Total funds in the amount of $3,335,000 are included in the District Capital Outlay:  Local Millage.   The contract amount being awarded is $3,333,000.
