Hillsborough Education Foundation Recognition of 19 AmeriCorps Graduation Pathways Members for Service to Students in Hillsborough County | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Hillsborough Education Foundation will recognize 19 AmeriCorps Graduation Pathways Members. Now in its third year, the AmeriCorps Graduation Pathways program is helping some of the lowest performing students in Hillsborough and Leto High Schools and their 23 feeder elementary and middle schools.
The dedicated AmeriCorps volunteers weekly mentor 260 students at high-risk of dropping out. Their guidance, encouragement, and inspiration are key to the future success of these students giving them a greater outlook, helping them set higher goals, and motivating them to achieve more than they ever thought they could--and ultimately becoming a high school graduate, not a dropout. |
