Florida Statutes authorize continuing contracts for professional architectural, engineering, and construction management services for projects for which construction costs do not exceed $2,000,000, and for study activities when the fee for such professional services does not exceed $200,000. This agenda recommends firms providing professional civil, structural and environmental engineering services for continuing service contracts.  The Board previously approved continuing contracts for these services in 2008. 

Florida Statutes and School Board policy outline the process and requirements for selection of professional service providers.  Attachment A summarizes the process. The process provides for the identification of the most highly qualified firms for the required service by a Professional Services Selection Committee that includes representatives from several District divisions and the community. Attachment C identifies the specific committee members participating in this selection and the organization represented by each.

A total of twenty-three engineering firms responded to the solicitation included in Attachment B. Firms responding and the results of the preliminary screening evaluation by the Committee are recorded in Attachment D.

The Committee interviewed each firm selected for further consideration as a result of the preliminary screening. In lieu of the ranking of firms, the Committee recommended approval of continuing contracts with all firms deemed qualified following the interviews (Attachment E). Recommended firms are listed on the continuation sheet.
