Approve Contract for Early Career Academy - Tampa | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Charter School legislation, 1002.33, F.S., permits individuals, organizations, and community members the opportunity to submit an application to the School Board for the creation of a charter school. On December 10, 2013, the School Board approved the application for Early Career Academy – Tampa. The school will serve students in grades 11-12 using a dual degree program, offering a high school diploma and associates degree through career/college credited courses.
A copy of the proposed five year contract for the school is attached. The original charter application approved by the School Board will become Appendix l of this contract, and will be available for review in the Charter School Office. The school's academic goals and objectives are found in Appendix ll. Additional information regarding the Discipline Policy is attached as Appendix III. Information on the Teacher Evaluation Plan is attached as Appendix IV and a Food Service Plan is attached as Appendix V. In the event of a discrepancy between the contract and the charter application, the terms of the contract will prevail. Early Career Academy – Tampa has agreed to all terms of the contract, which has been revised to include the most recent revisions to 1002.33, F.S. A copy of the application review summary is attached indicating where weaknesses are addressed in the contract. |
