SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Addition of Three Components to the Master Plan for Inservice Education (Instructional Support Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Florida Statute Section 1012.98 requires that each district school board develop and maintain an inservice educational training program.  Descriptions of training programs offered for inservice credit are incorporated into the Master Plan for Inservice Education.  The revision of the Master Plan for Inservice Education is approved annually by the School Board and Florida Department of Education.  During the year, specific training needs arise that require new courses to be developed and added to the master plan.  Recent legislation requires all certificated personnel earn at least 20 inservice points of training in the instruction of students with disabilities.

In response to the legislation, the attached components, Reading for Students with Disabilities, The Tough Kid Toolbox, and The Differentiated Classroom are being added to the Master Inservice Plan in order to help teachers support Exceptional Student Education (ESE) students.
