SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS | |
Approve Acceptance of Project for Water Intrusion Correction at Deer Park Elementary School |
|
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Water intrusion at Deer Park Elementary School required remediation and implementation of corrective action to prevent further intrusion. District staff selected C.B. Goldsmith and Associates, Inc., and Gilbane Building Company from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design and construction management services to accomplish the needed repairs and remediation. The project scope provided for removal and replacement of delaminated stucco and all sealants; exterior painting and limited interior painting; new walkway coatings; new drip flashings at window and door heads and new metal hoods over exterior wall louvers; and corrections to window flashing. The design professional has certified that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance. The Board previously approved a suit seeking recovery of a portion of the costs of remediation from the architect and contractor that designed and built both schools. The process of legal discovery is ongoing. |
