Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with The Skills Center to Provide Got Skills! Leadership Workshops to Select Schools (Student Services and Federal Programs) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Skills Center will provide student workshops that will help youth develop leadership attributes such as character, responsibility, respect, integrity, teamwork, and sportsmanship facilitating academic success and positive development. There will be a minimum of six sessions from April 30 to June 30, 2014, for 100 students at Durant High and Liberty Middle Schools, and Waters Career Center.
These workshops will assist with the development of leadership attributes and positive development and are aligned with the purposes of the Federal Title I, Part D grant for youth who are neglected, delinquent, and/or at-risk (academic achievement, successful transitions to further schooling or employment, and dropout prevention and intervention). |

This contract will be paid using Title I, Part D grant funds in the amount of $18,000 ($180 per student). | |
EVALUATION | |
Provider will administer a pre and post-test to participating students to determine if objectives of the program were achieved. The program supervisor and/or the designee will regularly meet with provider to discuss progress during the performance period. Data will be analyzed to determine the success of the program and future contracts with the vendor. At the conclusion of the program, a final report will be shared with district staff. | |
