Approve Award of Contract for Painting (Exterior) at Four Sites (Bartels, Cimino, Jennings, Robinson)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provides for exterior painting at Bartels Middle, Cimino Elementary, Jennings Middle and Robinson Elementary Schools.  District staff selected Reynolds, Smith and Hills, Inc. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services.  The scope of work includes repainting of exterior stucco; the interior and exterior of exterior doors; and railings and other exterior painted metal surfaces.

The project was advertised and bids received (see attached bid tabulation).  Bid documents allow for a separate award for each school.  Award of contracts for construction to the low bidder for each school, as indicated below, is recommended.

  . Cimino Elementary:  CMK Construction, Inc.
  . Jennings Middle:  CMK Construction, Inc.
  . Robinson Elementary:  United Painting Services, Inc.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)

Total funds in the amount of $400,000 are included in the District Capital Outlay: Millage.  The total contract amount being awarded is $399,675.
