Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for Remodeling (Interior Partitions & Carpet) at McDonald Elementary School
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

To provide a classroom environment more conducive to student learning, a minor renovation project is planned at McDonald Elementary School.  District staff selected Holmes Hepner & Associates Architects and Cutler Associates, Inc. to provide design and construction management services.  The scope of work includes new classroom partitions;  installation of new carpeting in classroom areas; a new fire sprinkler system; and new door hardware at several openings.

Approval of the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) will establish the cost for the project.

Project completion is scheduled for August 2014.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)

Total construction cost is warranted at $871,877.  The construction budget is $872,000.  This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Local Millage.
