Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for Minor Renovations at Three Sites (Chamberlain, Dowdell, Alexander)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provides for minor renovation of selected spaces at Chamberlain High, Dowdell Middle, and Alexander Elementary Schools.  District staff selected Carruthers & Associates-Architects, P.A. and RW Tymewell, Inc. to provide design and construction management services.  The scope of work includes renovation of science lab and chemical storage space at Chamberlain High; administration, general science and science lab spaces at Dowdell Middle; and restrooms at Alexander Elementary. 

Approval of the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) will establish the cost for the project.

Project completion is scheduled for August 2014.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Total construction cost is warranted at $378,113.  The construction budget is $380,000.  This item is included in the District Capital Outlay:  Local Millage.
