EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The ACS Chemistry Olympiad competition brings together the world’s most talented high school students to test their knowledge and skill in chemistry.  The ACS Chemistry Olympiad is a multi-tiered competition designed to stimulate and promote achievement in high school chemistry.  Approximately 10,000 U. S. high school students enter local Chemistry Olympiad competitions vying for a chance to compete in the U. S. National Chemistry Olympiad.  ACS local sections conduct local competitions each March to select nominees for the U. S. National Chemistry Olympiad. The ACS local section supporting the Chemistry Olympiad resides at the University of Tampa.

Hundreds of students representing four school districts competed in the local ACS Chemistry Olympiad.  Two students from King High School were selected as part of the five-member Tampa Regional Olympiad Team.  These students participated in the U. S. National Chemistry Olympiad Competition on April 28, 2014.
