EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Teengagement curriculum is designed for 9th grade students enrolled in the Advanced Communications Reading course.  These students currently scored a Development Scale Score (DSS) level 225-234 on the FCAT Reading assessment.  The program is developed based on the Language Arts Florida State Standards focusing on college and career readiness skills.  The curriculum includes five, 15-day units of study designed to provide students with multiple opportunities to read complex text and respond to complex text through listening, speaking, and writing.  Pre and post assessments are used throughout instruction.  The assessments focus on both vocabulary acquisition and comprehension mastery of skills.  Each student will receive five student books for the semester course; one per unit of study.  Teachers will receive teacher's guides and instructional materials supporting implementation.

Principle Woods, Inc. is designated as sole-source and owns the copyright to all Teengagement study units, training materials, and professional development.  This purchase is exempt from requesting competitive solicitations by Florida Department of Education 6A-1.012 Purchasing Policies (11) (b).
