Accept the Lowest and Best Bid Submitted by M & B Products, Inc. – Invitation to Bid (ITB) #14023-DST Fruit Juice (Business Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This bid was prepared at the request of the Student Nutrition Services Department to establish fixed pricing for 100 percent fruit juice products.  Award of this contract shall be to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, as specified in the bid. This recommendation has been reviewed by the General Manager of Student Nutrition Services.

The initial term of this agreement shall be for a one-year period beginning August 1, 2014, with four one-year renewals. All prices offered are firm against any increase for at least one year from the effective date. This agreement may be renewed by the Superintendent, per the terms of the specifications.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
Expenditures were $2,072,188 in 2013/2014, and $1,954,616 in 2012/2013. The district will realize an overall savings of $176,620 due to a reduction in line-item costs.
EVALUATION
Contract administration or evaluation is performed by the Project Manager (end user) and Procurement Officer, who function as a team. Reviews are conducted face to face, typically quarterly, or by utilizing an online vendor performance report. Prior to soliciting a new contract, the Contract Administration team must first give consideration to the specifications and supporting data of the expiring contract.
