SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve One-Year Contract Renewal with Scantron for an Item Banking Platform Under the Existing Achievement Series User Agreement (Information and Technology Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On July 16, 2013, the Board approved the User Agreement for the access to the web-based assessment system consisting of Achievement Series, a web-based districtwide assessment solution that allows teachers to develop and administer online and paper-based tests, capture the results, and produce standard-based reports. This system also supports the collection of assessment information at the district level. Also included is ExamView, a module that allows importing of ExamView items, and a dedicated Scantron project manager. The ExamView module and project manager were added in the previous two-year extension. This renewal also adds two needed components. Included this year will be uploading CTE and AVID content standards used for test development, and a district portal for immediate access to all assessment data within the Achievement Series platform to directly update the district data warehouse/dashboard.
The User Agreement and the Order Form contract renewal provides for the continued use of the Scantron Global Scholar Item Banking Platform for the 2014-2015 school year, the ExamView module, and a dedicated project manager. Previous contracts included scanner maintenance costs. Beginning last year, the maintenance appears on a separate contract to allow maximum flexibility in hardware and software purchases. Prior to last year, contracts included a cost for leased item banks from a third party vendor, Progress Testing. These have also been separated from this contract renewal to allow maximum flexibility. |
