Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Key2Ed, Inc. (Sole-Source Provider) (Student Services Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Key2Ed, Inc. is an educational consulting company providing training to local education agencies (LEAs), independent school districts, and to state education agencies (SEAs) in Conflict Resolution and Individual Educational Plan (IEP) Meeting Facilitation Skills. This training is provided in a three-day format.
This training will prepare District Exceptional Student Education (ESE) staff in how to conduct IEP meetings so that conflict is reduced or eliminated, and the meeting content and process maintains focus on the needs of the student. In addition to the three-day training, Key2Ed, Inc. provides a half-day seminar to coach implementation of the skills presented in the training. Trainers come back to the district at no additional charge to further deepen understanding and use of the skills and techniques presented. Key2Ed, Inc. also provides lifetime support to all participants as they implement the skills and techniques from the training through online discussion groups, telephone contacts, and emails. The training is designed to achieve 13 goals-3 in communication, 4 in team building, 3 in IEP compliance foundation, and 3 in writing meaningful goals and objectives. This training has been endorsed and promoted by the Florida Department of Education/Bureau of Exceptional Student Education and the Facilitated IEP Process is being implemented statewide. |

Budgeted IDEA grant funds are available in the amount of $15,000 for this project. This is a state negotiated fee and is all inclusive. | |
EVALUATION | |
Evaluation will be completed by the Supervisor and General Director of ESE at the conclusion of the training. | |
