Approve the Agreement to Provide Meals for Selected Charter School Sites (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Student Nutrition Services (SNS) has been asked to provide meal service to the following charter schools for the 2014/2015 school year under the district’s sponsorship of the National School Lunch Program:
The agreement shall be in effect from August 18, 2014, through June 5, 2015. Under the agreement, SNS is responsible for approving free and reduced price meal applications, furnishing food and supplies for meal service, and providing technical assistance. The charter school is responsible for adhering to meal accountability procedures, serving correct menu items, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the service of food. The meals served in charter schools will be included as part of the SNS monthly federal reimbursement claim. The charter schools will be invoiced monthly for student “full pay” meals, adult meals, emergency meals, any other meals that cannot be claimed as free or reduced price, and delivery charges. |
