Information Item Regarding Contract Leaves and Benefits for Instructional Personnel (Human Resources Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Short term instructional leaves are granted for leaves lasting less than 31 calendar days in duration. Short term leaves may or may not result in an interruption of benefits.
Long term instructional leaves are granted for leaves lasting greater than 31 days in duration and are only granted to teachers who have reached tenure. Health Leaves and Maternity Leaves have Board paid employee benefits provided through the end of the fiscal year. Personal Leaves and Professional Leaves are granted without Board paid employee benefits. Leave type descriptions, length of leaves, benefits, and eligibility are outlined in the Instructional Contract in Section 12. Additional answers to employee leave questions are answered by the Human Resources Department Representative in Personnel Services and Benefits. |
